ARCADIA, the retail conglomerate controlled by Sir Philip Green, will open its first Topshop store in Hong Kong on Thursday, paving the way for further expansion into the Chinese market.

The fashion brand is to launch a 14,000 square foot flagship in Hong Kong’s shopping district Queens Road Central, which will be managed by LAB Concept, a subsidiary of the luxury Hong Kong department store Lane Crawford.

Sir Philip sold a 25 per cent stake in Topshop and Topman in December last year to the private equity firm Leonard Green & Partners, leaving the group debt-free and helping to fund its expansion in the US and in other major markets such as China.

The business currently runs over 300 stores in Britain, four wholly-owned stores in the US and over 140 franchises overseas.
