CONFECTIONER Thorntons is looking forward to the Easter weekend. After a couple of years of austerity amongst consumers, general sentiment does seem to be improving and Thorntons will be hoping for a bumper Easter season. The share price has enjoyed a bounce in recent weeks, but the consensus is that there’s still more sweetness to come. The current IG Markets price is 115p-117p.
Northern Foods, the maker of Fox’s biscuits, is also having a good run. Over the past six months the stock has underperformed the FTSE 100 by about 28 per cent. It has traded sideways since early February at about 57p, but yesterday it saw a 7 per cent burst upwards to 62.8p. Its annual trading update comes tomorrow so we could see further upside to 65p. Spread Co offers a spread on Northern Foods of 59.5p-59.88p.
Domino’s Pizza’s share price has steadily risen from below 200p in early January to a high of 355.76p in February. The cold snap is also expected to have been good for the firm with more people ordering hot food deliveries rather then venturing out to restaurants. Will today’s trading figures reflect this? ShortsandLongs.com has a rolling spread of 332.8p-334.6p.
