Tindall to lead Barbarians at Twickenham

WORLD Cup-winning centre Mike Tindall has been named captain for the Barbarians against England at Twickenham on Sunday.

The Gloucester player-coach, one of England’s starters in their historic 2003 triumph in Australia, will partner Casey Laulala of Munster in midfield.

Baa-Baas coach Dai Young, also director of rugby at Wasps’, has selected three players from his club side in the starting XV, including uncapped back Elliot Daly, 20.

Wales fly-half James Hook, overlooked for the British and Irish Lions summer tour to Australia, makes his Barbarians debut at No10.

Saracens hooker Schalk Brits is named among the replacements. Italy captain Segrio Parisse will not be involved, however the No8 is expected to be available when the Barbarians take on the Lions in Hong Kong on 1 June.

England coach Stuart Lancaster is set to name his team today.
