TalkTalk fined for dropped calls

Ofcom has fined TalkTalk £750,000 for harassing potential customers with dropped and silent marketing calls. The regulator said that the telecoms firm made 9,000 calls which had no person at the other end or in which the caller immediately hung up. TalkTalk blamed the nuisance on call centres it had outsourced marketing to, and said that it had stopped using them after the incidents.
