SUPERMODELS are not normally spotted around Canary Wharf, let alone in the Wharf’s newly opened tech entrepreneur space Level 39.
However, model and Cambridge history of art graduate Lily Cole was spied at Dockland’s mini Silicon Valley on Friday, speaking alongside tech heavyweights such as the head of Google Campus Eze Vidra and goCarShare founder Drummond Gilbert at the Shared Future conference.
Cole was talking up the importance of paying it forward. She is the founder of website Impossible.com – a social network designed to “engender a peer-to-peer gift economy”.
The model also praised the government for helping her to launch her business two years ago, but said she believed entrepreneurs ought to be more aggressive in exploring the options that are available to them.
