<strong>Ronaldo draws record crowd</strong><br />A WORLD record crowd packed Real Madrid&rsquo;s Santiago Bernabeu stadium for the unveiling of winger Cristiano Ronaldo last night.<br /><br />The Portugal star, who joined in an &pound;80m deal from Manchester United earlier this month, was greeted by 80,000 fans &ndash; more than attended Diego Maradona&rsquo;s arrival at Napoli.<br /><br />Ronaldo said: &ldquo;I have made my childhood dream a reality, which was nothing less than playing for Real Madrid.&rdquo;<br /><br /><strong>Man Utd in race for Obertan</strong><br />BORDEAUX president Jean-Louis Triaud has revealed that winger Gabriel Obertan is on the verge of signing for Manchester United.<br /><br />The French Under-21 international was loaned out to Ligue 1 side Lorient last season after failing to break into Laurent Blanc&rsquo;s title-winning team.<br /><br />But Triaud said: &ldquo;Manchester United want to sign him and we would be delighted to see Gabriel playing for such a prestigious club. We will make the official announcement when the time is right.&rdquo;<br /><br /><strong>Zaki: Villa bid &pound;11m for me</strong><br />AMR ZAKI claims Aston Villa failed with an &pound;11m bid to sign him in the January transfer window.<br /><br />The Egypt international joined Wigan on a season-long loan from El Zamalek last summer and impressed in the first half of the season, only to tail off after Christmas. Zaki said the switch didn&rsquo;t materialize as Wigan refused the compensation on offer but says he wants to play in the Premier League next year.
