SARACENS wing David Strettle has told Toulon’s star-studded squad they will have to match his team’s work-rate at Twickenham on Sunday to reach the Heineken Cup final.
Toulon slipped to second place in the Top 14 league table last week with a 25-24 defeat to mid-table Grenoble and coach Bernard Laporte blasted his players’ attitude.
And while Strettle admits Sarries will be underdogs against a team boasting some of rugby’s biggest names, the Aviva Premiership leaders are hopeful of reaching their first-ever Heineken Cup final.
“A lot of it is down to not just having the quality players but having a work ethic,” he said.
“As a squad we feel everyone plays for each other and no matter who you bring in, a superstar or not, I don’t think they will function as well at Saracens unless they have that work ethic.”
