COFFEE giant Starbucks brewed stronger profits last quarter thanks to a strong showing from its US stores, it said last night.

The high street chain, formed in Seattle in 1971, saw revenues rise 11 per cent to $3.56bn.

This helped increase net earnings to $390.4m from $309.9m for the three months ending March.

Boss Howard Schultz said: “Innovation and an enhanced customer experience drove strong comp sales and revenue growth.”
