Spurs can still win title, says Parker
TOTTENHAM midfielder Scott Parker believes his side remain genuine Premier League title contenders despite Saturday’s failure to beat struggling Wolves at White Hart Lane.
Victory would have seen Harry Redknapp’s side draw level with leaders Manchester City, albeit having played one game more, but they had to settle for the point they salvaged thanks to Luka Modric’s equaliser.
Spurs travel to the Etihad Stadium on Sunday looking to avenge a 5-1 defeat earlier in the season and more importantly, according to Parker, reassert their title credentials.
“I think we can still win the title, definitely,” said Parker, who returned to action at the weekend having missed the last three matches with a knee injury. “We need to believe that we can win every game and then see where that puts us.
“We have to enjoy this moment and obviously be happy where we are, keep enjoying it and get the best results.
“We will quickly dust ourselves down from this game and we will go to Man City looking forward to it and hopefully get the three points.
“It’s a big game and I am sure we will come out on the front foot looking to win.”
