slips up on own design
GOLF: Ernie Els was left to rue his own design changes after his BMW PGA Championship bid hit the buffers at Wentworth yesterday.
The South African found the new water ditch on the controversial 18th hole of the West Course, which he has recently finished redesigning. It took him back to two-under-par – four shots behind overnight leader David Willett.
“Right now I'm disappointed, but overall the course played fair and very well,” Els admitted.

Landis has now admitted he regularly doped as a rider, but also said he witnessed the seven-time Tour de France winner doing likewise on a team bus.
“We have nothing to hide,” Armstrong said. “With regards to the specific claims, they’re not worth getting into.”
