Shares for rights watered down

GEORGE Osborne was last night forced to water down his flagship plan to allow employees to give up employment rights in return for shares in order to save the policy.

The House of Lords has twice rejected the policy and the chancellor has now given into demands that workers must be offered free legal advice before abandoning their rights for equity.

Osborne has already conceded that no one on jobseeker’s allowance will be forced to take a job that requires participation in the scheme.
