Sales recover at Marston’s

Pitcher and Piano bar owner Marston’s said recent sales had improved as it posted an expected fall in profit following a weather-hit first half of the year. The firm, which has 2,100 pubs, said underlying profit for the half year to 30 March fell 18 per cent to £27.6m, after the company saw trade buffeted by snow and cold weather. The company also appointed a new chairman, former Hilton executive Roger Devlin.
