SABMiller to help sell Swedish cider Kopparberg in Australia

BREWING giant SABMiller has struck a deal to take Kopparberg cider to new markets, starting with a launch in Australia.

SABMiller has agreed to supply all of Sweden-listed Kopparberg’s products in markets where the cider firm does not yet sell.

No financial details for the agreement have been disclosed, and SABMiller has not revealed information about distribution deals beyond Australia.

Shares in Kopparbergs Bryggeri rose 3.6 per cent yesterday, having spiked as much as 10 per cent higher during the day.

SABMiller, the firm behind Peroni, Miller Genuine Draft, Foster’s and Grolsch, has made a string of deals to expand in new markets recently, including the £550m purchase of China’s Kingway Brewery and price cuts in Africa.
