Rugby star found trading more stressful than World Cup final

ENGLAND World Cup winning rugby star Will Greenwood has been reflecting on his former life as a foreign exchange trader.

Rugby pundit Greenwood worked as a trader at Midland Global Markets, now HSBC, after finishing his economics degree at Durham and before kicking off his international rugby career.

Speaking at the launch of the 2013 JP Morgan Sevens series, Greenwood told The Capitalist: “I loved it – when the Italians changed Prime Minister it was always an interesting afternoon.”

“It was about as good a preparation for a World Cup final as you could ever have. Forget about sport, get yourself in the City with an unexpected interest rate change, then you’ll know what pressure is.”
