CANARY WHARF Group has signed up nine new retailers to an extension of its shopping mall at the heart of the financial district, slated to open in November.

Hennes & Mauritz’s high-end minimalist fashion brand COS and American clothes chain Banana Republic have exchanged contracts to open stores at Jubilee Place, the developer said yesterday.

They will open in the new 43,000 square foot extension alongside swimwear brand Orlebar Brown, The White Company, cosmetics brands BareMinerals and Rituals, Oliver Bonas, Emmett Shirts and Le Pain Quotidien.

Canary Wharf has been rapidly expanding its retail space ahead of a Crossrail station opening in the area, expected in 2018.

The company is building 115,000 square feet of retail space above the Crossrail station, which – together with the extension to Jubilee Place mall – it said represented one of the largest retail expansions underway in the country.
