THE ANNUAL City football tournament organised by consultants Kennedy Pearce played on yesterday afternoon, despite the soggy weather.
Teams from The Bank of China, Schroders, Lloyds Bank, Sarasin & Partners, Cushman and Wakefield, Close Asset Management and Sarasin & Partners turned out to compete for the silver trophy.
It was a hotly contested match in the final game between Close Brothers and Sarasin & Partners, with the latter firm winning on penalties for the third year in a row. And the prize, besides glory, for the winner? Not a bottle of champagne but a novelty cheque for £1,000 to be presented to the charity of the victorious team’s choice – which was children's charity Honeypot.
