FORMER League Cup winners Queens Park Rangers have been drawn away to League Two minnows Exeter City in round one.
Harry Redknapp’s side, who won the competition in 1967, will make the 340-mile round trip to the south-west in the week commencing 5 August.
The pair had already scheduled a pre-season friendly at St James’ Park on 11 July and last met in the same competition in 2009 where a hat-trick from Wayne Routledge, plus late goals from Alessandro Pellicori and Hogan Ephraim saw the R’s progress with a 5-0 win.
Also, in yesterday’s regionalised draw, Millwall were paired with AFC Wimbledon, while Charlton will play 1986 winners Oxford United,
Dagenham & Redbridge, seeking their first ever win in the competition, travel to Brentford and Leyton Orient host League One rivals Coventry City at the Matchroom Stadium.
