Profits climb at Ted Baker on strong overseas sales

FASHION retailer Ted Baker this morning posted buoyant full-year profits, as it was boosted by strong sales overseas.

Pre-tax profit for the year to 26 January was up 16.5 per cent to £31.5m, up from £27.1m in 2011 and in line with forecasts.

Revenue climbed 18 per cent to £254.5m, with retail sales up 11 per cent in the UK and Europe and up 68 per cent in the US and Canada.

In 2012, Ted Baker opened new retail stores were opened in Japan, China and Canada, as well as further stores in London, New York and Hong Kong.
