Police foil terror plot in Canada

City A.M. Reporter
CANADIAN police yesterday foiled an “al Qaeda-supported” terror attack to derail a passenger train.

Police arrested Chiheb Esseghaier, 30, of Montreal, and Raed Jaser, 35, of Toronto in connection with the plot, which authorities said was not linked to the Boston Marathon bombings, but likely had connections to al-Qaeda. Neither suspect is a Canadian citizen.

They allegedly planned to derail a VIA passenger train in the greater Toronto area. The two men are due to appear in court today.
