The move is meant to give retail investors a cost effective way to access fixed income securities such as UK gilts and corporate bonds.
Rachel Maguire, Business Development Director at Plus markets, said: “Plus’s trading volume doubled in the second half of 2009 and this increase was largely due to individual clients trading shares. In 2010, we aim to further increase this retail flow by the addition of Fixed Income trade reporting to our product portfolio.”
Last month Plus markets made a series of changes to its management structure as it prepares to offer more products and move into international capital markets.
Cyril Theret replaced Simon Brickles as chief executive, who becomes vice chairman, and Giles Vardey took over from Stephen Hazell-Smith as non-executive chairman.
“We need a management team to promote the business. I’m not sure that was evident before,” said Vardey.
