Pinsent Masons boosts turnover after merger

LAW firm Pinsent Masons this morning revealed its turnover rose by 40 per cent to £309m for the year to 30 April, a figure which reflects a changed firm with over 1,500 lawyers after last year’s acquisition of Scottish firm McGrigors.

The increase – up from £221m pre-merger last year – follows a busy year that has seen the firm expand into Paris, Munich, and Istanbul, meaning it now has more offices outside the UK than at home for the first time in the firm’s history.

Pinsents has won several new high-profile client in the past year, including UK energy regulator Ofgem and FTSE 250-listed infrastructure group Balfour Beatty.

Managing partner David Ryan said performance was good despite a tough market environment and demand remained strong for its global sectors such as litigation and tax.
