PC sales slump is biggest ever

PC SALES have tumbled this year, suggesting much weaker than expected demand for Microsoft’s Windows 8 software and poor performances from the likes of Dell and Hewlett-Packard

Figures from market researchers IDC said that sales of desktop and laptop computers had fallen 14 per cent in the first three months of the year, almost twice as big a drop as expected and the sharpest decline since IDC began tracking shipments in 1994. Sales have suffered as shoppers pick up tablets instead.
