Pay rises for new lawyers

MAGIC circle law firm Clifford Chance has increased the salary bands of all of its trainee and associate solicitors, meaning newly qualified lawyers can earn up to £76,200.

In its annual review the firm raised salaries across the board, with first-year trainees earning £30,000 – up from £39,000 in the current year, and second years earning £44,000.

Lawyers three years post-qualification will take home a salary of £87,800 – up from £87,000, with potential bonuses taking total remuneration as high as £114,140.
