THE LONDON School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) has leapfrogged Oxford to be ranked the second best university in the latest league tables, released yesterday.

The LSE also jumped above London’s Imperial College, moving from fourth to second place.

Cambridge maintained its top spot in the Complete University Guide, which ranks higher education colleges according to student satisfaction, research assessment, graduate prospects and entry standards.
