LEYTON Orient have launched a High Court challenge to West Ham’s hopes of moving to the Olympic Stadium in east London.
The League One club say they have been refused the opportunity to share the Stratford stadium with the Hammers, and that this is against the bidding rules. West Ham were named preferred bidder by legacy chiefs the LLDC last year and had hoped to conclude a deal this month to move in for the 2016-17 season.
Orient’s application for a judicial review could take months to be heard. The club, along with Tottenham, challenged a previous decision to award the stadium to West Ham, which was scrapped.
