New Trent deal for Rolls-Royce

ENGINEERING group Rolls-Royce yesterday agreed a deal to supply its Trent 100 engines to Air Lease, which will use them to power four of its new Boeing Dreamliner planes.

London-listed Rolls said the deal, worth around $160m at list prices, is the first time a US aircraft leasing firm has picked the Trent 1000.

Air Lease has placed orders for 33 Dreamliner aircraft.

Aviation firms will typically offer steep discounts to the list price for customers who buy in bulk.
