New Look eyes a double expansion

FASHION retailer New Look has said that it plans to double its presence on the UK high street and is considering a share listing next year.<br /><br />New Look chief executive Carl McPhail has said that the firm will double its domestic floor space to 7m sq ft and potentially add 670 more stores outside of the UK.<br /><br />He also said in an interview that floating the privately-owned retailer is &ldquo;clearly an option&rdquo;, though only one of many.<br /><br />Other options New Look is considering include a trade sale or a sale to new private equity owners.<br /><br />New Look has been owned by private equity firms Apax and Permira, which paid &pound;699m, since 2004. Founder Tom Singh has kept a holding of 22 per cent.
