New Hull chief set for crisis talks with Brown

HULL CITY boss Phil Brown will hold crisis talks with chairman-in-waiting Adam Pearson today in a desperate bid to save his job.

Pearson is rejoining the club after leaving Derby County last week and will be unveiled at the KCStadium later today.

And Brown, appointed as manager by Pearson during his previous stint with the Tigers, will seek reassurance his position is safe after overseeing only three wins from the last 31 matches.

Brown’s torrid run continued with a 2-0 defeat at Burnley onSaturday – his side’s fifth Premier League loss in seven games.

Brown, however, remains adamant he wants to stay and is well aware of the new chairman’s presence. Asked what he thought the on-looking Pearson would have learned from Saturday’s game, he said: “He would have learned that he has a manager that is still at the helm and one that is willing to put his neck on the line for the cause.

“And that he also has a group of players that will do the same for the manager.”

Saturday’s defeat saw Hull go third from bottom in the Premier League table.
