New bosses prove the top draw as pay TV rivals reveal schedules

CHELSEA’S opening Premier League fixture has been switched to Sunday 17 August as pay TV bosses look to mine interest in the high-profile managerial changes among the top four.

The Blues host Hull 24 hours later than planned in Jose Mourinho’s first competitive match since his return to Stamford Bridge, and is among Sky’s picks for the opening weekend. They appear to have juicier early fixtures than rival BT Sport, having also bagged David Moyes’s first match in charge of Manchester United and Tottenham’s trip to Crystal Palace, also on Sunday.

BT Sport have Liverpool’s clash with Stoke, but boast Tottenham’s derby with Chelsea in September and say they are saving most of their “first choice” picks until the decisive later months of the season.
