THE MANAGING director of supermarket chain Waitrose Mark Price (pictured) revealed his political apathy to Hay festival-goers this week.
The supermarket boss told literary fans at the festival that he had never voted in a general election, admitting: “It is bizarre, I know.”
The Waitrose boss also diplomatically defended the appointment of Pippa Middleton as a food columnist in the company’s Waitrose Kitchen magazine: “I think she has a very individual view of food and entertaining.”
It may not feel like summer at the moment, but perhaps dumping a truckload of sand onto the streets of Canary Wharf will brighten spirits, if not skies. Charity Action for Kids will again be transforming cold Canary Wharf into a beach-side volleyball arena from 8 - 19 July. In previous years the likes of Barclays, HSBC and Linklaters have all taken part in the beach volleyball games, with ICAP having twice been crowned champions. All teams receive training from an England volleyball coach, so beginners have no excuses. To sign up visit: www.actionforkids.org
