Natwest to launch talking ATMs

Natwest and sister bank RBS plan to launch talking cash machines for blind and partially sighted people from early next year. Users will be able to plug earphones into the machines, and then be talked through their transactions. Natwest aims to have converted around 80 per cent of its ATM machines by the end of 2015.

The bank said it had worked with the Royal National Institute of Blind People (RNIB) to develop the ATMs.
