RUPERT Murdoch has agreed to come before MPs for another grilling over wrongdoing at his newspapers, the media tycoon said last night.
The Media Select Committee wants him to come to parliament after a recording revealed his anger at the authorities’ investigation into the scandals of phone hacking and paying police.
“We’re talking about payments for news tips from cops. That has been going on a hundred years,” he said, in the tapes published by website Exaro and Channel 4 News. “Why are the police behaving in this way? It’s the biggest inquiry ever, over next to nothing.”
It comes two years after Murdoch last spoke to the committee, where he described the parliamentary hearing as “the most humble day of my life.”
