MPs to get pay boost after 2015

MEMBERS of Parliament seem set for a pay rise, as the Independent Parliamentary Standards Authority (IPSA) will suggest raising the salaries of MPs to £74,000.

Currently, MPs earn £66,396, which will rise by one per cent each year until 2015. MPs set their own pay until IPSA was set up in response to the expenses scandal.

The BBC suggested last night that the resettlement grants which MPs receive on leaving politics would be a target for cuts.
