MP hit by duck island row

A THIRD Tory MP has said he will not stand at the next General Election after it emerged he claimed for a &ldquo;duck island&rdquo; for his garden pond.<br /><br />Backbencher Sir Peter Viggers, who served in Margaret Thatcher&rsquo;s government, was told he would be thrown out of the party by leader David Cameron if he did not resign.<br /><br />The MP for Gosport submitted a claim for a floating duck island worth &pound;1,645 for the garden pond at his Hampshire Home.<br /><br />Meanwhile, the expenses of Tory whip Bill Wiggins were published, and appeared to show he had claimed interest payments on a property with no mortgage, although he said this was an administrative error.<br /><br />And it emerged that Labour MP Ruth Kelly claimed thousands of pounds of taxpayers&rsquo; money to repair flood damage to her second home &ndash; even though she had an insurance policy.
