More than meets the pie: TV show features ex-Greggs boss

PASTY enthusiasts have the pie-fect excuse to stay in tonight, as a documentary about high street bakery chain Greggs will be airing on Sky One.

With the title Greggs: More Than Meats The Pie, The Capitalist is already expecting good things from the series, which is billed as an access-all-areas look “behind the counters and into the kitchens and boardrooms of this bakery powerhouse.”

And will the boardroom sneak peak feature new chief executive Roger Whiteside? Apparently not, as filming took place while old boss Ken McMeikan was still at the helm.

One man even less likely to be watching is George Osborne. It was just over a year ago that the Chancellor admitted he couldn’t remember the last time he bought a pasty from the bakery.
