Merrill runs EADS share placing

Merrill Lynch yesterday sold 1.15 per cent of European aerospace firm EADS through an accelerated bookbuilding for €380m (£321.7m), or €39.75 per share, according to a regulatory filing. On Wednesday, Spain’s State Industrial Holding Company said it had cut its stake in EADS to 4.2 per cent from 5.41 per cent. A spokesman for SEPI declined to say if the bookbuilding was on its behalf. EADS on Tuesday announced a €3.75bn share buyback as it looks to move on from its thwarted attempt to merge with BAE Systems.
