McDonald’s global sales up in May

McDonald’s yesterday reported sales were up 2.6 per cent worldwide for May after it expanded offerings for late-night breakfasts, tweaked other menus and benefited from advertising value-priced meals. Analysts polled by Consensus Metrix had expected a 1.9 per cent rise in global sales at restaurants open at least 13 months. Sales at restaurants open at least 13 months rose 2.4 per cent in the United States, two per cent in Europe and 0.9 per cent in Asia Pacific, Middle East and Africa.
