McBride warns of tough year

OWN brand producer of shampoo McBride saw its shares dive yesterday after the company warned its full-year performance may be at the lower end of expectations due to a tough retail outlook, especially in the UK.

In a trading update for the six months to 31 December, McBride said revenues had risen two per cent, largely driven by growth in central and eastern Europe.

“The board believes that the full-year outlook may be towards the lower end of its expectations,” the company said.
