CMC’S NEW CHARTING PACKAGES
CMC Markets has announced the launch of a new charting software package for both demo and live spread betting accounts. The software allows clients to use professional real time charts to improve their trading. Line, candle, open-high-low-close and spread charts are all available, while clients can also use technical analysis tools such as overlays and drawing tools to to mark trend lines, channels, Fibonacci retracement and other patterns.
CITY INDEX SLASHES ITS MARGINS
City Index has cut its margin requirements on a range of equities, including on several mining companies, British banks and insurers. Clients can now trade on firms like BHP Billiton with a margin of just 2.5 per cent, down from 15 per cent previously. Joshua Raymond, market strategist, said: “Traders will appreciate the opportunity to use their capital more efficiently”. Lower margin requirements allow traders to place more leveraged bets, magnifying profits and losses.
S&P LAUNCHES NEW EUROZONE INDEX
Standard & Poor’s has launched a new index designed to provide exposure to 75 of the Eurozone’s most liquid blue chip companies. The S&P Euro 75’s constituents are drawn from stocks included in the S&P Eurozone broad market index. They are screened for size, liquidity and tradability, and the index is calculated in real time. Germany and France carry the largest country weights, representing 33.2 per cent and 32.4 per cent respectively. Greece and Portugal are not included.
