LME trading volumes hit high

London Metal Exchange trading volumes hit a record high last month, the second consecutive month volumes have smashed records. In May, 14,597,723 lots were traded, up on the previous record of 14,517,213 logged in April. Trading in cobalt, which increased 30 per cent versus a year ago, led the rise with nickel up 19 per cent. Zinc volumes increased 13 per cent, copper was up 10 per cent and aluminium went up seven per cent.
