LLOYDS told another 550 staff they are losing their jobs yesterday as part of its long-running programme to slim down its workforce.

A total of 8,550 staff have been chopped since the middle of 2011 when the plan to cut 15,000 jobs was announced. That means the bank is now well over half way to its target, with a planned deadline of the end of 2014.

The roles cut yesterday include risk, insurance, commercial banking, retail, wealth, asset finance and international positions.
