Dunelm, the homewares retailer, yesterday announced it has hired the former financial director of Reckitt Benckiser as a non-executive director. Liz Doherty stepped down from the household and personal care goods manufacturer last month after a culture clash with the group’s chief executive Rakesh Kapoor. In a statement in September, Kapoor said “Reckitt Benckiser’s and her way of working are not as well matched as either of us would like”. Doherty will join Dunelm on 1 May. Before joining Reckitt in 2011, Doherty was finance chief of Australian support services business Brambles and group international finance director of Tesco.
