Kenmare Resources impressed investors yesterday by revealing a 20.9 per cent leap in production of heavy mineral concentrate at its mine in Mozambique. The FTSE 250 miner said it used the materials to produce 137,500 tonnes of ilmenite in the first quarter of 2013, up 11.2 per cent on last year. Kenmare also said demand was picking up again for titanium feedstocks and zircon. Shares in the company closed up 6.4 per cent at 30p yesterday.
