Jaeger picks Esprit man as its new head

PREMIUM fashion brand Jaeger has appointed Colin Henry as the company’s new chief executive from next month.

Formerly chief product officer at Esprit, Henry will take over from Stewart Binnie, who was drafted in to lead the business after its sale last year but stepped down in March after just nine months.

Last year Jaeger’s previous owner Harold Tilman secured a rescue deal with private equity vehicle Better Capital prompted by the company’s cumbersome debts, which amounted to £19.7m in February 2011.

Better Capital head of portfolio Nick Sanders said yesterday he hoped Henry can build on the firm’s momentum. “His wealth of knowledge and experience of the retail sector will be invaluable,” Sanders said.
