IAG boss slams airport inaction

IAG boss Willie Walsh warned yesterday that a punishing tax regime and lack of investment mean airports in the Middle East will overtake Heathrow by 2015.

Walsh said Heathrow will be outside the top five airports in the world within a decade, contrasting the “inadequate infrastructure” and political indecision in the UK with the thundering pace of construction elsewhere. He also told a transport summit in Abu Dhabi that he is “all for high speed trains” that link airports to cities.
