Horse drug found in ASDA corned beef

SUPERMARKET chain ASDA last night said it had found traces of a veterinary medicine known as “bute” – used as a horse painkiller – in some batches of its Smart Price corned beef. The product was recalled at the start of March amid the horsemeat scandal.
