Hoare Capital grabs veteran credit experts

HOARE Capital, the wholesale broking boutique, has embarked on a hiring spree in its specialist credit team, ahead of a possible move to new offices in Mayfair.<br /><br />The firm, led by founding senior partner Nicholas Hoare, has brought in 10 new faces to its credit business.<br /><br />Among the appointments is Richard Gathercole, formerly of Bank of Scotland, who will head the corporate credit sales team focusing on high-yield and distressed debt.<br /><br />Mark Rogers, who spent 23 years as a senior salesman with Commerzbank, HVB and UBS, joins as head of asset-backed securities (ABS) sales, while Andrew Sheppard, a trader who has worked at JP Morgan and WestLB, will be head of dealing.<br /><br />Further hires include former Bank of America man Sergio Marques as senior credit sales specialist for France and Iberia and Iglika Bostandzhieva, from Dresdner Bank, who will concentrate on emerging market sales.<br /><br />&ldquo;We&rsquo;re being selective in our hiring and growing organically,&rdquo; said Hoare.<br /><br />&ldquo;We&rsquo;ve brought in high-level staff who will mix well with our young, energetic team,&rdquo; he said.<br /><br />The company is understood to be planning a move to Mayfair soon.
