Hands’ firm falls short of Walker disclosure goals
SEVERAL private equity companies including Guy Hands’ vehicle Terra Firma fell short of the Walker guidelines this year, the group responsible for policing the transparency rules said yesterday.
Terra Firma withdrew Autobahn Tank & Rast from the guidelines because “it is not fully compliant with the UK requirements”, the Guidelines Monitoring Group said.
Meanwhile, TPG’s company Vita Group could not be checked as its accounts were not made public until after the review had begun. A spokesperson told City A.M. that Vita no longer had enough employees in the UK to fall under the rules.
Most of the 32 companies reviewed had satisfactory disclosure policies.
The Walker guidelines were introduced in 2007 to make private equity-backed firms more transparent.
