Greenberg doubles AIG claim

Maurice “Hank” Greenberg, the former American International Group chief executive, has more than doubled the size of his class-action lawsuit against the US state over the insurer’s bailout to roughly $55.5bn from $25bn. In an amended complaint filed late Monday, Greenberg’s Starr International said it is now seeking damages over Maiden Lane III LLC, a vehicle designed to rid banks of toxic debt underlying transactions with AIG.
