Google rivals scorn EU offer

GOOGLE’S rivals have lashed out at a set of concessions the internet search giant has offered Brussels.

UK price comparison website Foundem yesterday said in a statement that Google’s proposals, such as displaying prominent links to rival services, do not address competition concerns, while other complainants were just as critical.

The responses may influence whether EU regulators accept the proposals. Google may be fined up to 10 per cent of its sales otherwise.
